Case Study: Family Counselling gets positive feedback
GTC funds regular Family Counselling at Girton Glebe, provided by Relate which enables parents and children to talk to a Relate Counsellor, together or individually.
The children who have worked with a Counsellor look forward to their weekly sessions and teachers have commented that these pupils appear to be much happier in school.
Parents have also noticed the positive effect Family Counselling has had on their children and have said how helpful it is to have someone to come and talk to.
In addition, Relate has introduced a ‘Be A Buddy Scheme’ at Girton Glebe to encourage the older children to look after new arrivals and help them settle into the School. This not only benefits the younger children, but also develops caring skills among those carrying out the mentoring.
