18 Aug 2026 At Girton Town Charity’s office on High Street, three members of staff provide essential support for the Charity’s many activities, as well as delivering administrative back-up for the team of Trustees. We take a look behind the scenes to see what is involved. 5 Jun 2026 Developing new skills to understand and engage with older residents has recently been the focus of a ten-week programme for young people in the Village. Organised by The Connections Bus Project and funded by Girton Town Charity, The Generation Game has been a very successful initiative – for participants, organisers and recipients. 2 Sep 2025 Ian Sollom, MP for St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire was welcomed at Dovehouse Court recently, selected by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) as a recent winner of a RIBA East Award for its inspiring design and futureproofing technology. 26 Aug 2025 Girton Town Charity is supporting a new ten-week Babysitting Course, organised by the Connections Bus Project and open to Village residents aged 14-17 years. The first course has now been completed – and received very positive feedback from participants. The sessions covered such topics as: what makes a good babysitter, the law and what we expect, building effective relationships and learning, listening and communication skills. 26 Aug 2025 A further award has been given to the almshouses at Dovehouse Court for their inspirational design and excellent sustainability credentials – the first in the UK to fully conform to certified Passivhaus standards. The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) East Award was presented to Mole Architects, designers of the ground-breaking homes, at a ceremony held in Norwich which honoured 14 winning projects across the East of England.All in a day’s work
