30 May 2023 Girton Town Charity’s new almshouses and office were formally opened on Saturday 29th April by Dr Robin Hiley, Trustee and former Chair. The event was attended by 30 invited guests who had been involved in the project, followed by an open session for Village residents to come along and see the new homes for themselves. 21 Mar 2023 GTC is marking the completion of a £5 million building project to create 15 new energy-efficient almshouses for local residents. Following an 18-month building programme, Girton Town Charity took ownership of Dovehouse Court, where all the homes have been built to stringent Passivhaus standards to achieve maximum energy efficiency. The development also includes a new office for the Charity. 12 Feb 2023 Dovehouse Court is now in final stages of completion and Trustees have recently visited to view progress ahead of handover which will take place at the end of February. 13 May 2022 Girton Town Charity has continued to steer a very busy programme with a major new almshouse project underway at Dovehouse Court, the completion of Suffolk Terrace.
